About Us

GermansAvid hunters and fisherman – Steve and Josh German bring to taxidermy a breath of fresh air. These are not the stick it on the wall mounts of days gone by, these are poses and realism that of which Mother Nature would applaud. In a world of fast food, where quicker is better, “Taxidermy Art” does taxidermy the way it was meant to be done. Steve and Josh have a great deal of reference and hands on experience both in the field and in the studio. Each animal is treated with the respect that should be given to one of Mother Nature’s children.

Years of competition taxidermy have elevated “Taxidermy Art” to the level of master. In 1991, Steve was awarded the National Taxidermist Association’s Award of Merit for outstanding achievements in the art of taxidermy. In 1995, he was awarded the Louisiana Taxidermist’s Award of Excellence, in the first year the award was given. A noted bird judge on the state, regional and national level has made Steve very critical of what goes out of the studio.

Josh began competition at the age of eleven and has his share of awards. A very good canvas artist, Josh brings the little things to “Taxidermy Art” that make a good mount a great mount. He is a stickler for detail and does not settle for just OKAY. The German boys motto has always been: “if we won’t hang it in our home, you shouldn’t be expected to hang it in yours.”

Although waterfowl is their first love, “Taxidermy Art” is a full service studio. Exotics, African, small mammals, fresh and salt-water fish, all done with the highest quality work and craftsmanship.

Hunting and fishing the world has brought an appreciation of God’s creatures to Steve and Josh, which show in each of their mounts. From Alligators to Zebras, it will be a mount that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Before your next outdoor adventures, please feel free to contact us for tips on Trophy Care in the field. Due to improper care in the field, many mounts are damaged and even lost before the trophies ever reach our studio. Steve German’s Taxidermy Art, LLC is also a U.S.D.A. approved facility for trophy importation and detoxification. This means we can handle your foreign trophies upon their arrival into the United States. We at Taxidermy Art, LLC apply years of experience and award winning techniques to all of your trophies.
